My California Poppy Conversation

The other night I felt impressed to pull this out of my journal, surprisingly it was from a year ago. Often I pray when I have downtime "take me somewhere and teach me something." Many times these end up being experiences in an alternate realm.

This time, I was hoisted under my arms by a being and pulled up up up, and then plopped down in a poppy field.

The poppies were alive, duh! Of course they were, but I mean they were responsive to me being there and they were telling me their stories. Stories of spiritual abuse, cults, being used for their ability to hold light, all the way down to simple acts of less than love coming from a spiritual community. One of them couldn't even look at me because it had been hurt by what I was - a Christian. It sat the whole time with its petals closed up and facing away.

The rest of them were open books, chattering away to me, talking over the top of one another. Despite what had happened, they seemed cheerful, exuberant, like this had been bottled up and they could finally let it go.

Now, I don't believe I was talking to the actual flowers, but they are representative of the people that their essence heals.

Where the flower essence comes in.

I had already understood that California Poppy has to do with moving away from dark or superficial systems of spirituality, ritualism, or following gurus and towards one's own personal heart connection with a higher power, but hadn't understood there was a wound healing aspect until now. 

Religion is a man-made construct, whatever form it comes in, and at the bottom of it all is a recruitment to get people to serve an agenda that is counter to what Creator had in mind. Those who need  California Poppy essence have been betrayed by those claiming to represent God.

True spirituality happens at a heart level. It can't be found via the next teacher, experience, or community. Those things are all good and needed if you have the spiritual connection to discern who you need to be associating with. But people are sadly never a substitute for the real deal. California Poppy is an aid to a personal connection and a first-hand relationship with the Divine Spirit.

We've used California Poppy anywhere where a person has tried to fill a void the wrong way, via materialism, false or faddish spirituality, drugs, other addictions like gambling, or compromising to fit a community.

What's on the land vs. what's in the air.

One of the things I've noticed is that plants that grow profusely in an area are usually there to combat something in that environment. Often there can be spiritual issues in the air over areas of land, that the plants that grow on that piece of land are there to counter. When I travel, I'll look at the plants to know what the people in the area are dealing with. Being in tune with the frequencies coming from the flowers is like an inoculation from the atmospheric stuff.

California has a bit of a reputation for void fillers such as materialism, superficiality, and trendiness. It started as far as I know with the greed of the gold rush, with people using and destroying one another for their own gain, and has permeated the spiritual environment there.

If you live in California, I've heard the bloom is stupendous this year, and you might want to head out and soak up some poppy energy. If you don't live in California, but relate to these poppies, there's the ever convenient flower essence.
